Audit or matter: Go-Ahead Group plc (FY2016 to FY2020 audits)

What the regulator found

The FRC said Deloitte admitted that it did not make sufficient enquiries, apply enough professional scepticism or evaluate fraud risk factors in relation to matters including overpayments retained by the London and South Eastern Railway subsidiary, accrual releases at another rail subsidiary and an onerous contract provision in Germany, and gave insufficient oversight to the German component audit team. Deloitte also received a published severe reprimand and an order to report on root cause analysis.¹
